Trial aims to reduce painful needles and improve infection testing
NCT ID NCT06806709
Summary
This trial is testing a needle-free device called PIVO Pro to see if it can reduce contamination in blood culture samples. It involves about 1,150 adults in emergency departments who need a blood culture test. Half will have their blood drawn using the new device through an existing IV line, while the other half will have blood drawn the standard way with a separate needle.
