First seen Apr 05, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study compared two types of injections (dextrose or lidocaine with saline) for treating chronic neck pain caused by stubborn muscle knots in the upper shoulder. 96 adults who had not improved with standard treatments received ultrasound-guided injections and were taught home exercises. The goal was to see which injection better reduced pain and improved neck function over 3 months.
