Neck pain study reveals how chronic sufferers become more sensitive to pain
NCT ID NCT06976398
First seen May 09, 2026 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This completed study looked at 83 adults with chronic non-specific neck pain to understand how their pain affects body awareness and sensitivity. Researchers measured pain intensity, pain threshold, disability, and how well participants could sense their neck position. The goal was to better understand the link between central sensitisation (increased pain sensitivity) and body awareness, which could help improve rehabilitation approaches.
