New nasal spray could offer fast relief for sudden anxiety

Summary
This study tests a nasal spray containing dexmedetomidine to see if it can safely and quickly reduce symptoms of acute anxiety in adults. About 150 people with sudden, severe anxiety will receive either the drug or a placebo spray. Researchers will check anxiety levels and vital signs over two hours and follow up for a week to monitor side effects.
