Summary
This study tested whether a nasal high flow therapy, added to standard care, helps people with acute breathing failure who do not have acidosis. It included 16 adults with high carbon dioxide levels but normal blood acidity. The main goal was to see if the therapy prevents acidosis within two weeks.
