Heart scan predicts recovery after heart attack
NCT ID NCT07568587
First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looked at 30 people who had a heart attack and were treated with a procedure to open blocked arteries (angioplasty). Researchers used a special heart scan (SPECT) shortly after the procedure to see how much heart muscle was saved. They then checked if this scan could predict how well the heart would pump blood 6 months later. The goal was to better understand recovery, not to test a new treatment.
