Music may wake young brains: new study tests live vs. recorded therapy

NCT ID NCT07209657

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study looks at whether live music therapy can help children aged 1 to 18 who have a disorder of consciousness after a severe brain injury. Over 10 days, each child will receive both live and recorded familiar music, and their responses will be carefully measured. Researchers also want to see if early reactions to music relate to recovery six months later, and how parents feel about music therapy. The goal is to learn if live music offers extra benefits over recorded music for these children.
