Cochlear implant study tests deeper stimulation for better music listening

NCT ID NCT04591093

First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study looks at whether stimulating deeper parts of the inner ear with a MED-EL cochlear implant helps adults with hearing loss perceive music better. About 32 French-speaking adults who already qualify for a cochlear implant will take part. Researchers will compare standard stimulation with deeper stimulation to see which provides richer, clearer sound quality.
