Can music soothe the pain of critically ill children?

NCT ID NCT05541029

Summary

This study is testing whether listening to music can help reduce stress and pain in children who are critically ill and on breathing machines in the intensive care unit. Researchers will compare the effects of live music versus recorded music by measuring stress hormones and other biological signs in children aged 2 months to 17 years. The goal is to find a non-drug way to ease suffering and improve comfort during a hospital stay.
