NCT ID NCT07515196
First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study tested whether listening to music can reduce pain and anxiety caused by holding a hand in cold water. Forty healthy young adults took part in one session with several cold-water tests while listening to different types of music. The goal was to see if universal musical features, cultural rhythms, or personal music preferences have a calming effect. Results may help design better music-based pain relief for dental procedures.
