Brain-Beating braces: music may melt dental fear in teens
NCT ID NCT07526922
First seen Apr 20, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tested whether listening to relaxing music with embedded alpha binaural beats (a type of sound pattern) could lower anxiety and stress in 66 adolescents getting braces. Participants were randomly assigned to hear the special music, regular relaxing music, or no sound during the procedure. Researchers measured anxiety through questionnaires, vital signs, and saliva stress markers. The goal was to see if this simple, drug-free approach could make dental visits easier for teens.
