NCT ID NCT04306536
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a special nutritional supplement designed to support muscles could help older adults (60+) recover better after surgery for a broken femur (thigh bone). Twenty participants were randomly assigned to receive either the supplement or a placebo alongside their physical therapy. The trial was terminated early, so results are limited, but the goal was to improve walking speed and overall function.
