First seen Apr 19, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looked at how breathing and leg muscles use oxygen during intense arm and leg exercise in healthy young women and men. Twenty-four physically active adults aged 18-35 completed cycling and arm ergometer tests while their muscle oxygen levels were measured. The goal was to understand gender differences in muscle oxygen use, which may help tailor exercise programs in the future.
