AI reads body scans to perfect anesthesia dosing

NCT ID NCT07478120

First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study looked at 31 women having gynecological surgery to see if muscle and fat measurements from CT scans could help doctors decide the right dose of muscle relaxant. Currently, doses are based on total body weight, which can be inaccurate. The researchers used artificial intelligence to analyze CT images and compared those measurements to how the drug worked. The goal was to improve dosing and avoid giving too much or too little medication.
