Summary

This study tested whether adding a new drug called ixazomib to a standard two-drug combination (cyclophosphamide and dexamethasone) works better for people with multiple myeloma that has returned or stopped responding to previous treatments. It involved 112 adults whose cancer had progressed after at least three other standard therapies. The main goal was to see if the three-drug combination could keep the cancer from getting worse for a longer period of time compared to the two-drug combination alone.
