Scientists probe molecular secrets behind glaucoma eye strain

NCT ID NCT07539675

First seen Apr 22, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at people with a type of glaucoma called primary angle-closure glaucoma (PACG) to find out why some have loose lens supports (zonules). Researchers will compare molecules in the eye fluid of patients with loose zonules, those without, and healthy people. The goal is to map out the biological pathways involved, which may lead to better treatments in the future. About 150 adults aged 50 and older who need eye surgery will take part.
