MRI breakthrough could replace risky biopsies for kidney cancer
NCT ID NCT07173140
Summary
This study is testing whether new types of MRI scans can tell the difference between aggressive and non-aggressive kidney tumors before surgery. Currently, doctors often need invasive biopsies to determine tumor type, which can miss cancer cells. Researchers will compare MRI results with tissue samples from 30 patients undergoing surgery to see if imaging can accurately identify which tumors need treatment.
