Spinal fluid volume may predict anesthesia effects, MRI study finds

NCT ID NCT07333703

First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study looked at 40 adults who had an MRI of their lower spine within the past six months. Researchers measured the amount of spinal fluid in the lower back and then gave them spinal anesthesia for surgery. They wanted to see if the fluid volume affected how high and how long the numbness spread. The goal was to better understand anesthesia, not to treat a disease.
