New antibody drug targets Hard-to-Treat cancers in early trial

NCT ID NCT06547840

First seen Apr 18, 2026 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This early-stage trial is testing an experimental drug called MOv18 IgE in people with advanced ovarian, endometrial, or triple-negative breast cancers that have a specific protein (folate receptor alpha) on their cells. The study has two parts: first, finding the safest dose, and then checking if the drug can shrink tumors. About 45 participants will be enrolled to see if the drug is safe and shows promise.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

MOv18 IgE (an experimental antibody designed to target cancer cells)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could lead to a new treatment option for certain hard-to-treat cancers like platinum-resistant ovarian cancer.

What could go wrong

This is an early Phase 1 trial with only 45 participants, so it is primarily testing safety and dosing. The drug may not show enough anti-tumor activity or could cause unexpected side effects.

Conditions

The condition(s) this trial relates to.
