First seen Apr 05, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a special type of conversation called motivational interviewing can help people with long-term illnesses stick to a physical activity program. 114 adults in Amiens, France, who had a chronic disease were randomly assigned to either receive motivational interviews or just the standard program. Researchers measured their physical activity levels and quality of life at the start and after 6 months to see if the interviews made a difference.
