New program aims to help mothers in recovery build stronger bonds with their children

Summary

This study tests a program called Mothering from the Inside Out (MIO) for mothers recovering from substance use disorders. The goal is to see if it helps mothers better understand their children's needs and reduce parenting stress. About 200 mothers in outpatient treatment will participate, and the program focuses on improving the mother-child relationship.
