Summary

This study looked at whether playing a recording of a mother's voice to children as they wake up from anesthesia can reduce confusion and anxiety after surgery. Eighty children having their tonsils removed took part. Half heard their mother's reassuring voice during recovery, while the other half did not. The goal was to see if the voice recording helped them stay calmer and experience less post-surgery delirium.
