Summary
This study tested whether a small, passive device that repels mosquitoes (called Mosquito Shield) could prevent children from getting sick with viruses spread by Aedes mosquitoes, like dengue. Nearly 7,000 children aged 4-16 in Sri Lanka participated. Households were randomly assigned to receive either the real repellent device or a look-alike placebo, and researchers tracked new virus infections over two years.
