First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study tests how mouth rinses made with monk fruit or Splenda affect saliva acidity and levels of cavity-causing bacteria. 90 healthy young adults (ages 20-24) with no active cavities will rinse with one of the sweetener solutions. Saliva samples will be checked before rinsing and up to 30 minutes after to see which sweetener better controls cavity risk.
