NCT ID NCT06091917

First seen Mar 23, 2026 · Last updated Jun 05, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a natural nutrient called betaine to infant formula can safely prevent excessive weight gain in babies at risk for childhood obesity. Researchers will compare growth and gut bacteria in 50 formula-fed infants whose mothers had a higher pre-pregnancy weight. The goal is to find a simple way to promote healthy growth from the start.
