First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tested whether mirror therapy—a technique using visual feedback from a mirror—can reduce pain and improve movement in people with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) better than routine physical therapy alone. Fifty-two adults aged 40-65 with CRPS after a stroke took part. The goal was to see if adding mirror therapy leads to greater pain relief, less muscle stiffness, and stronger hand grip.
