Researchers analyze thousands of liver surgery cases to find safer methods

NCT ID NCT07169877

Summary

This study looked back at past medical records to compare two ways of performing liver surgery: minimally invasive (using small incisions) and traditional open surgery. Researchers analyzed data from over 9,400 patients who had liver surgery between 2022 and 2023. They wanted to see if the minimally invasive approach led to fewer complications like infections, readmissions, or deaths within 30 days after surgery.
