Can mindfulness ease the trauma of childbirth workers?
NCT ID NCT07643181
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests an 8-week mindfulness and self-compassion program for midwives and nurses who work in obstetrics. These professionals often face traumatic events like complicated deliveries or loss, which can lead to stress and burnout. The trial will compare 40 participants who take the program with 40 who do not, measuring changes in self-compassion, stress, and quality of life.

- What this could lead to
- If it works, this program could offer a simple, low-cost way to help healthcare workers cope with job-related stress and trauma.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial with only 80 participants, so results may not apply to all settings. The program requires time and commitment, and benefits may vary.
