Heart bypass study tests Artery-Spraying drugs for better flow

Summary
This study tested whether applying the medicines milrinone or nitroglycerin directly onto a heart artery used in bypass surgery can increase blood flow. 46 people having planned bypass surgery took part. Doctors measured the artery's free flow before and about 12 minutes after applying one of the medicines or a saltwater solution. The goal was to see if these drugs help widen the artery and improve blood supply during the operation.
