NCT ID NCT07489807
First seen Mar 30, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tests whether very mild sound amplification (8 decibels) from hearing aids can reduce the distress, loudness, and annoyance of tinnitus in people who have normal hearing. Fifteen adults with chronic tinnitus will try both amplified and non-amplified hearing aids for three weeks each, without knowing which is which. The goal is to see if the amplified setting offers real relief compared to a placebo.
