Summary

This study tested whether adding a mild electric current (microgalvanic) to microneedling helps women with white stretch marks feel better about their bodies and quality of life. Sixty-one women aged 20–35 received 10 weekly sessions of either microneedling alone or microneedling plus the current. Researchers measured changes in body satisfaction, quality of life, and skin appearance using questionnaires and photos.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
microgalvanic current combined with microneedling
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a safe, non-invasive way to improve the appearance of white stretch marks and boost body satisfaction.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed trial with only 61 participants. The results may not apply to everyone, and the improvement might be modest or no better than microneedling alone.
