Poop transplant trial aims to ease diabetic stomach woes
NCT ID NCT06340217
Summary
This study is testing whether a treatment called washed microbiota transplantation (WMT), which transfers processed gut bacteria from a healthy donor, can safely improve symptoms for people with diabetic gastroparesis. Researchers will compare the treatment against a placebo in 46 participants to see if it reduces nausea, vomiting, and bloating. The goal is to see if changing the gut's bacterial community can help control this hard-to-treat stomach condition.
