Poop transplant plus prebiotics could ease stubborn constipation

Summary

This study tests whether transplanting healthy gut bacteria (fecal microbiota transplant) combined with prebiotics can help people with chronic constipation that hasn't improved with standard treatments. Nineteen adults with refractory constipation will receive the treatment and be monitored for changes in bowel movements and safety. The goal is to restore a healthy gut environment to improve symptoms.
