First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested a personalized education program called 'Mi Propio Camino' (My Own Way) to help Hispanic adults with uncontrolled high blood pressure stick to their medication. Over 500 participants received either the tailored program or standard care. The goal was to see if personalized coaching improves daily pill-taking and blood pressure control.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- personalized behavioral education program (Mi Propio Camino)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this approach could help more people with high blood pressure take their medication regularly, leading to better long-term control.
- What could go wrong
- This is a completed study, so results are known. The intervention is behavioral, not a drug, so it may not work for everyone and requires ongoing effort.
