First seen Mar 14, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study compares two smartphone apps designed to help people who smoke but aren't ready to quit. Both apps provide standard quitting advice, but one includes extra features for those who feel unsure. Researchers will track whether participants request free nicotine patches or quitline services, and if they report quitting smoking after 6 months. About 800 adult smokers who own a smartphone and smoke at least half a pack daily will take part.
