New hope for tough arthritis: targeted combo aims to control disease

NCT ID NCT06301373

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tests whether a stronger treatment (methotrexate plus tofacitinib) works better than methotrexate alone for people with active rheumatoid arthritis who have a specific type of joint inflammation called myeloid-stromal. About 130 adults will take part for 12 weeks, with follow-up for almost a year. The goal is to see if the combo reduces symptoms and prevents joint damage better than standard care.
