Surgery pain breakthrough? methadone tested to reduce opioid need

NCT ID NCT05417100

Summary

This study is testing whether giving methadone during spinal surgery helps reduce pain and the need for additional pain medications in the first 72 hours after surgery. The trial involves 17 adult cancer patients undergoing complex spinal procedures. Researchers are comparing standard pain management with and without methadone to see which approach works better for controlling post-surgical pain.
