Summary
This study tested how well a long-acting form of metformin controls blood sugar over 24 hours in people with type 2 diabetes and mild to moderate chronic kidney disease (stages 1-3). Twelve participants took metformin XR once daily while researchers monitored their glucose levels continuously. The goal was to gather safety and effectiveness data in this group, where metformin use is often limited due to kidney concerns.
