NCT ID NCT07395895

First seen Feb 11, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tests whether a painless electrical current can push the diabetes drug metformin through the skin to reduce knee arthritis pain in postmenopausal women. All 68 participants will receive physical therapy, and half will also get the metformin patch while the other half gets a placebo patch. The goal is to see if this approach improves pain and daily function better than physical therapy alone.
