Summary
This pilot study tested the diabetes drug metformin in 20 adults with advanced melanoma that had spread and was no longer curable by surgery. The goal was to see if metformin could shrink tumors or slow the disease. The study is complete, and results will show if this common, low-cost drug offers any benefit for this aggressive cancer.
