Experimental Liver-Directed therapy for eye cancer shows early promise but trial halted

NCT ID NCT04935229

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This early-stage trial tested a drug called SD-101, given directly into the liver's blood supply, alone or with immune-boosting medicines, for people with a rare eye cancer (uveal melanoma) that spread to the liver. The study aimed to find a safe dose and check if the treatment could shrink tumors. The trial was stopped early, so results are limited.
