Double attack on rare skin cancer: radiation meets immune booster

Summary
This study is testing whether combining a type of radiation therapy with an immunotherapy drug (avelumab) works better than either treatment alone for controlling advanced Merkel cell carcinoma, a rare and aggressive skin cancer. It will involve about 19 adults with cancer that has spread, who have not yet received other treatments for their advanced disease. The main goal is to see if this combination can keep the cancer from growing for a longer period.
