Mind over movement: can imagining hand tasks help Parkinson's patients?

NCT ID NCT07193303

Summary

This study is testing whether a technique called mental imagery—where people imagine performing hand movements without actually moving—can immediately improve upper body motor skills in people with Parkinson's disease. Researchers will work with 30 Parkinson's patients to see if practicing movements in their mind helps with real-world tasks like picking up small objects. The goal is to understand if this simple, drug-free approach could become a helpful rehabilitation tool.
