Mind over motion: imagining hand exercises may boost dexterity in Parkinson's

NCT ID NCT07193303

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study looks at whether mentally practicing hand movements (called motor imagery) can immediately improve hand and finger skills in people with Parkinson's disease. Researchers will have 30 participants perform a pegboard test both physically and in their imagination, then compare the timing. The goal is to see if this simple mental technique can help with common hand difficulties in Parkinson's.
