Simple cup could shield women from infections

NCT ID NCT05666778

Summary

This study is testing whether providing menstrual cups to economically vulnerable women in Kenya can help prevent bacterial vaginosis and sexually transmitted infections. The researchers believe that using a clean, reusable cup for menstruation may replace unhygienic practices and materials, leading to fewer infections. They will follow about 400 women for up to three years to see if using the cup makes a difference.
