Summary

This study tested a new vaccine designed to protect against four types of meningococcal bacteria (A, C, W, Y) that can cause meningitis and bloodstream infections. It involved 707 healthy toddlers aged 12 to 23 months and compared the new vaccine's safety and ability to trigger a protective immune response to two already approved vaccines. The main goal was to see if the new vaccine worked at least as well as, or possibly better than, the existing options.
