First seen Feb 20, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looked at whether membrane sweeping, a technique where a doctor gently separates the amniotic sac from the uterus, can help start labor and lead to a successful vaginal birth in women who have had one previous C-section. The study included 384 women in Pakistan who were willing to try a vaginal birth after a C-section. The goal was to see if this simple procedure could reduce the need for another C-section.
