First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looks at whether melatonin, a natural sleep hormone, can help reduce anxiety in children before surgery. About 120 children aged 4 to 14 will receive one of two doses of melatonin or a placebo before their operation. The goal is to see if melatonin works as well as standard anxiety medicines but with fewer side effects.
