First seen Apr 15, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This early-phase study tests a treatment called RP1, a modified herpes virus, injected directly into melanoma tumors. The goal is to see if it can kill cancer cells and reduce the risk of the cancer spreading to nearby lymph nodes. The study involves 25 adults with thick or high-risk melanoma who still have visible tumor or positive margins after biopsy. Researchers will monitor side effects and check lymph node samples for cancer.
