New combo tackles tough melanoma after first treatment fails

Summary
This study looked at two different drug combinations for people with advanced melanoma that has a specific BRAF gene change and has gotten worse after prior treatment. One group received a targeted therapy pill (encorafenib and binimetinib) plus an immunotherapy infusion (pembrolizumab). The other group received two immunotherapy infusions (nivolumab and ipilimumab). The goal was to see which combination works better at shrinking tumors. The study was stopped early, but the results help guide future treatment choices.
